Is a 1900-o Morgan with a doubled "o" a VAM?

I guess the title asked the question. I have a 1900-o Morgan with a doubled "o" mintmark. Is this a VAM and if so is it any good?

thanks,
Matt

Any chance of posting a scan of the reverse?

    VAM 24 O/O LEFT
    VAM 25 O/O DOWN
VAM 26 O/O LEFT AND DOWN
    VAM 37 O/O

AND A PILE of doubled dates

And you know I have just got to say it: Every Morgan dollar is a VAM, unless it is a new discovery, in which case, after attribution it will be assigned a VAM number.

None of the currently attributed 1900-O rpm list with a premium.

Is the mintmark the only thing on the reverse that is doubled? I have a similar Morgan in a PCI green label holder marked "reverse double strike" on it. It appears to be a case of mahine doubling as other parts of the design appear to be doubled.

  • thanks mrdq and Gilbert, especially G's insight. I think it's a VAM 37.
