Are Half Dollars the strongest denomination in US coin collecting?

Despite how little the half dollar circulates, there seems to be a ton of different series and varieties to choose from to
collect. From a Flowing Hair to JFKs to early commems. The Half dollar sure has alot to offer for the average US coin collector.

Actually, considering diversity for the collector, I think quarters have it. Commems are cool too. (oh, yea. A lot of them are halves.)
We'll use our hands and hearts and if we must we'll use our heads.

I completely agree. The only thing uglier than a MS Kennedy is a MS Frankie, or a proof Frankie, or a circulated Frankie.

people collect. I am not sure if any recent accurate surveys have been done. Personally I feel
not too many people collect Bust Dimes or Liberty Seated Dimes or Flowing hair dimes.
Beautiful as they are. For classical coins at least, Quarters and Half Dollars seem to be equally
popular. They are relatively large, great variety, good range of grades and are generally easy
to sell or auction. Morgan Dollars are probably equally popular because of their beauty, toning,
Prooflike qualities and generally reasonable price. Large cents and Classical Cents are probably a little
more popular then dimes. I have no idea where classical nickels would fall, but I do like the
Rays five Cent piece very much.

from 1941 and continued the set till about 1969. Its not worth a whole lot, but it sure gave
me a lot of hours worth of pleasure.
