Gold coin size question

Is a 1/10 oz US gold Eagle ($5 face value) the same size as a $5 Gold Eagle coin? Thanks.

    No. The "classic" $5 gold weighs 8.369 grams and contains .24187 ouce of gold. The bullion coin contains as advertised 1/10th of an ounce. All of the modern commemorative $5 gold coins are the classic size.
    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    Correct although some of the first $5 had as much as .25788 of an ounce pure gold and weighed 8.75 grams. (Draped bust)
