I like PCGS

I've been bellyaching about stuff I just have to remind myself I like PCGS and I owe them a debt of gratitude.

I like the way the holders look.

I like the way they grade. I really think the try to do it right.

I think they usually get the coins back from grading in a reasonable amount of time. Right now is the exception and not the rule.

Buying coins, grading them and selling them allows me to make money I wouldn't otherwise have.

Overall other than some minor irritations I think they do a great job.

I also like NGC for the same reasons. Both are good companies.

    Overall PCGS is fair with their terms- even to the extent they come off looking unjust at times.

    What Service- rendering a decision on something you own (and thus calculating 'value'), would NOT be open to not just scrutiny, but distaste?

    In many ways, I'm surprised the Services don't have more bad press from disgruntled collectors/dealers heaped upon them.

    Jay,

    I think your post is on the mark. There is an excellent reason why PCGS (as well as the other leading services) have a following. They must be doing much more right than wrong. Is PCGS perfect? I'd say that no creation of man is perfect.

    I have specific preferences on the matter of the services, but I happily get to choose from a small, core group of top services that includes PCGS.
