Name your ultimate UNDER $1000 dream coin.

Two simple rules:

The coin must exist.

If available, the coin should be expected to cost less than $1000.

A colorfully toned MS or PR 3 cent silver... those tend to run $600ish when I see them in 63-64.

A common IHC in PCGS MS65 RD. Are those typically under $1000? I know common 64 RDs sell for around $100.

  • Blast white ms-67 37D Oregon Comm.
  • Littlewicher you can find a common MS65RD IHC for as low as $300-350. A better common might be about $400. You want luster, a nice strike and a lack of marks especially carbon spots. Look for a golden light colored one.

Coinrookie that's a relatively easy Oregon to find. Will run you about $650, at least that's what I paid David Lawrence.

I want a 1970-S MS66FS Jefferson in a PCGS holder!!! Not really an ultimate coin, but I just can't find it!!!!

HA! Edited to say that maybe the problem is due to the fact there's only ONE in the Pop Report! I guess I should give up!! hehe!

I'd go for a great contemporary counterfeit Standing quarter or Walker. I've seen one of each that had enough character to qualify as my dream coin. Neither was for sale, but I would probably pay $1000 for either one.

Not a single coin but an OBW roll of 1939 quarters!!! I haven't found an unopened original OBW roll from the 1930's!!!

I have the 1940-P and 1940-s OBW rolls but I am nowhere on the 1930's!!
