  • Nobody? Is there a board that coin dealers/webmasters hang out at? It seems that most Coin dealers make thier own websites. Or am I wrong on this? thanks
  • Welcome to the forums. I am sorry but I do not know the answer to your question. I just wanted to welcome you aboard.image

Here's a big fat welcome to ya!

I don't have an answer to your question because I don't know what you mean. What/how do you sell traffic?

I doubt it. Do you want traffic...or to sell it?

  • Thanks everyone for the welcome. As far as the traffic I am looking to buy it right now. I have seen console traffic brokers selling "collectables" traffic but none that have specifically "Coin" traffic. I have a decent budget so if anyone can help me out I would appreciate it. Thanks

I develop web sites, mainly coin related web sites. But I have never heard of selling traffic. I don't even understand the question.

I do the programming and graphics. I build the data tables, make the site asthetically pleasing. I don't do their marketing.

Still no clear answer. Jeremy, please explain "click throughs" and how that would work and is that selling traffic?

My brother ran many web sites in the internet early days and in my opinion is the best in the business. he started some adult sites and was able to create traffic despite 10,000 other players in the market. We are currently starting an internet lead generation company and will be crowding out the few competitors in our market tootsweet.

Send me a private message and we can talk.

Basically, people are enticed (be it by being paid, etc) to click a link... when the link is clicked, their click is recorded so they get paid/rewarded, and then the website has been opened... he wants to pay for a company to guarantee a certain number of people click a link to get to his website.

Jeremy, Ok I'm old and slow. I still don't know why I would pay someone to click on my website unless they were going to buy something. But I don't read that as the intent. Is this to increase hit count for inflating advertising revenues?

    FatMan,

This is the way alot of internet lottery sites work - a person "clicks" on a "banner ad" to enter their ticket - the web site shows up and if even 1 in 100 or maybe 1 in 1000 people think the site is cool, the advertising has worked. It can sometimes be as cheap as $40 for 10000 clickthroughs or something like that.

    Ok, I get it now.

    Thanks JJacks
  • Thanks for the replies, I guess this is the wrong place to ask this question. Buying traffic either by buying exit popups from other sites, link exchanges, or similar methods are pretty standard things for most websites, I suppose they are not the norm for coin websites. Do coin websites trade traffic with each other at all? Sorry for all the questions, I work in buying and selling web traffic, but not in this field. I want to start a online coin shop and am looking for sources of traffic so when my site is ready I can get as much traffic to it as possible. Do many coin websites actually sell a lot of coins from thier sites? Or are they mostly used as a billboard to get potential customers to order by phone or other means? Thanks
  • Choker-

I think the difference may be that many/most sites related to coins are dealer or other supply sites not typically driven by advertising revenue. Tranlated: Most coin sites want buyers not "eyes" which is why most traffic is sold.

LOL, I would pay up to $10 per 1k uniques if they clicked on a link to get to my site, exit traffic from coin sites I think around $5 per 1k. I did find a few sites that sell banner spots. One was $250 a month for 60k raw banner impressions. It seems that nobody sells clicks, just banner spots in this industry.

Thanks man I will take you up on that. Your daughter is as cute as a button. I have two 10 year old girls myself. I long for the days that they were your daughters age. They actually listened to me back then. LOL
