Minor cleaning, excellent coin and a true 65PL, despite the SEGS holder.

Cleaned and or dipped and nasty looking re-tone. I don't like it for 65 either.

From what little I can see, looks like a nice coin to me. I'd give a looksee.

Can't condemn it from THAT pic, or rather, I can't.

I agree with Gilbert- you really can't tell from that picture. mike image
  • from previous auctions of this seller, many of which were removed by eBay prior to completion, I'd say it's likely overgraded, not undergraded

This is a rare coin in PL MS65. I'd guess it is overgraded but I would have to see the coin for myself. The holder gives it away too. We had a dealer FUN show dealer) come talk at our coin club. He said he send coins to PCGS or NGC first even though he worked for ANACS for several years. Then he wil send a coin to ANACS for a special variety or if the other 2 will give the grade he wants. Coins in other holders usually have some problem or are overgraded.

I don't like SEGS, but the coin looks o.k. to me. I do tend to like album-toning--some don't.

  • It has been dipped.

  • As with the others, I would never buy a coin certified by SEGS over the net. However, the coin seems fine to me. It would probably be a 64 at PCGS or NGC, but I'm no expert on Morgans.

It appears to be what it is......segs MS65PL.. The coin does seem to be PL. Probably a 64 but who can really tell off a scan. I don't like the toning much and its overall eye appeal is poor for the grade. As far as being dipped, probably, but most morgans have been at sometime in their lives. The seller does have a return policy so if you like how the coin looks and you think the price is OK for most likely a true 64 grade go ahead and give it shot.
