Time - A magical quality about time is the way it speeds up when we
are doing something we like and slows down when we hate the task at hand.
Time, even while we perceive it to expand and contract, is the one immutable thing
in our lives that is fixed by fate and unyielding in its slow eroding nature. All the money, power,
glory, fame and stature ,can not extend time. In the course of events , time become more precious as it
lessens. If their is a kind of immortality, then it must lie in what we have become and what people
remember of us. Most will never be famous or write music so magical it will be remembered
and listened to untill the end of time itself. Most of us lead more tranquel lives , some say, of quiet
desperation. If we are remembered it will be for the simple every day qualities that truly make up a
person of quality. Love , given and received with grace and devotion, integrity, determination,
loyalty and fidelity to God, Flag and family. Reliability, that you were there for those you loved and
cared about . It is amazing how our own priorities seem to change with time.
Perhaps, the reason is because we ourselves are changing with the passage of time. What seemed
so important to us in achieving, fame, stature and promotion , all is fleeting, all an illusion. What is
true and real is what we give of ourselves to others. If we bring our memories with us to the end,
so too will we leave memories of ourselves behind. I know that broadcast waves, go out into space
for all eternity reaching toward the most distant stars. I often wonder if memories live beyond the
span of life itself ,as a form of energy radiating on its own wave length. It would be nice to believe
that memories can transcend time and space for all eternity
Perhaps our immortality lies within the double helix of life itself
Our children are a part of our immortality, we give them life, we tend them as gently as
a flower ,we watch them bloom into adults and if time permits, spend happy years in shairing our love.
How do we each wish to be remember by friends and family for our time alloted on this world. That my
dear friends can only be written by each of you. Spend your time with wisdom,spend your time with love,
spend your time as if each full minute were a universe unto itself.If you are to be remembered, let it
be for the person you have become and not for material things of gold.
