What would you grade this 1883-CC?

I came across this in my collection. It's raw.
What would you all say is the grade, just for fun.....

Not a proof, but I bought it off E-Bay for $38.00, what would the worth be???

Looks really good! Looks MS65; MS66 maybe streaching it. Worth slabbing if you care to do so.

Edit to say - $38!?!?image Your joking aren`t you?image In MS65 it`s $300+! If your not joking, who did you buy it from?

nice cart wheel morgan I think it may grade a ms63 she has some pretty bad blemishes on her face that keep her from grading much higher

Slabbed PCGS MS64 could bring at least a couple hundred dollars I,m guessing,if not more.

I would say high end PCGS ms-64 with semi PL fields. Definitly worth grading.

A shot 65 but I doubt it at PCGS.In any event , a true bargain for a lovely CC Morgan.

Lovely field but some deep cuts and scrapes on face is the reason no cigar.

Even PCGS gives some leeway for CCs. Looks to me like a very strong 65.

Looks like there might be some rub on the face so if it's not 58 I'd say 64. I'd think the hits on the face & neck will preclude the 65 grade but maybe not.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

I will tell you that the blemish's on her face are just scuff marks and not cuts or gouges. The reverse is virtually error free. I got the coin last year from a couple on e-bay who were selling their grandfather's coins. I tried to pull it up, but it's not there anymore. image

Like I said the marks are just very light scuffs. I think it's beautiful myself, but I'm a lil' one-sided...image

GSAguy.. it was probably one of those were the seller scans the whole bed of the scanner, and the coin is about 15 pixels in diameter. image

    Looks MS64. Possible PL?

Since the fields look pretty clean but with some light scuffing in the face, and a couple heavier hits in the face I'd say 64.

Ya .The $38 price paid peeked my interest too.
    What a bargain!!!!!
Luckily for you the couple obviously didnt know what they had.
On slabbing and selling,I,m not sure it wouldnt go for equal money raw as slabbed.
Instead of paying for grading fees just take lots of good pictures to show on Ebay
and let the CC people bid it up.
Conversely.Having it authenticated and encapsulated wouldnt hurt the resale value one bit.
What do the CC buyers say?

    $38 Wow.
So,What IS wrong with the coin anyway huh?Nothing at all?
It does appear to be quite nice from the pics shown.

As a new PCGS member, I do have 4 free submissions. I think I'll have it graded. I feel that perhaps as everyone has said a MS65 grade would be fair? Just curious.

    Thanks everyone!

a MS65 grade would be fair?

CC Morgans are given some leeway in grade as they should. If the bag marks arent too severe,65 would seem right.

I,m interested, with many others here,as to what it will come back as.

Good luck with the submission and let us know how it turns out.

It's a new thing we're trying Gilbert. It's called psychic grading. You think of a coin and we tell you what the grade is.
