Damn, I have not laughed this much is years. What a great day for laughs.

Wallstreetman, are you serious? He saved you $100? Let's see you try to sell your new aquisition without losing anything. Never gonna happen. But, I strongly recommend that you sell them sooner than later, since everyone is catching on that the "MS-69" on the piece of plastic doesn't carry much weight.

The ultimate scam is one is which the victim forever thinks that he received a good deal. Hee-hee.
  • Hey NumEd,

I can go for $100 plus bet right now! Are we on?

wallstreetspam, I will take your bet. Now, how will I know that you did not get one of your buddies to buy the coins? One other condition of my bet: the buyer has to have an IQ above 45, which is unlikely if he or she collects moderns.

  • I dont have to sell this set! We can just watch some auctions and rule out your accusations that I might cheat! Your starting to sound like Russ(Forum Cop)!

wallstreetham, you ever hear of shill bids????? Those auction final results are meaningless. Take your set into a coin shop. Or simply list the set on ebay.

Actually, I should not give you a hard time. You (and all of us) can collect whatever we want to collect, regardless of cost. I just hate to see my fellow mortals get ripped off.

wallstreetman, I didn't want to have to say this, but the auctions that you keep referencing all have one thing in common:

They were not submitted to PCGS by David Hall Rare Coins.

Ya think that maybe, just maybe, the coins that homerunhall submits get some special treatment, even on a subconscious level? The point is that your "big score" may not all be MS-69's.
  • HRH has stated many times that he does not submit his own coins.

Sure, and I believe him as much as I do in the toothfairy. How can any dealership who deals in slabbed material not do any submitting?

Alan Hagar submits his own coins to ACG. Why would it be any different for David Hall?
