Flavor of the month bashing of PCGS

I really dont know what is going on, or not going on with PCGS.

What I do know is this, while everyone is arguing, I am buying quality coins

superb for their grade, mostly graded by PCGS. Some picture will be posted thru the day by curtesy

  • This might be the time to buy huh bear? I was thinking the same thing. I haven't had a problem at all with PCGS or their grading. While many people panic and start to sell, I plan on to keep buying.

Funny I didn't know PCGS sold coins.

I have shifted to now buying the coolest coin regardless of holder. But then cross those holders to NGC (for the future) if they are not in a PCGS or NGC holder. Outside of that, my submissions are probably going to NGC in the future.

After reading through many of the threads, I believe I have a new found faith in PCGS.

I just submitted my largest batch of coins (35 indian cents) including my first ever modern coin, a 1909-S Indian Cent. I had Coinguy1 look them over first to minimize the bodybags (thanks Mark!).

I have no problem buying PCGS graded white (untoned) coins, most are correctly identified and conservatively graded (most but not all).

Most, sounds pretty good. All is probably an impossibility.

You're most welcome, Tom - good luck and please let me know how you do. Remember though, the key word is "minimize' not "eliminate". image

My major gripe with PCGS is their customer service, specifically their turnaround time. Until they fix this, my submissions are going to NGC. 50 days turnaround is just not acceptable for economy.
