A letter to the Senate about H.R. 258 and coins

Hi All - I have just written a letter to my State's U.S. Senator regarding the redesign of U.S. coinage and the proposed bill before the House to make the designs of the 5 cent piece follow a static theme. I posted the letter Across the Street, and I hope you'll have a look.

But never fear - the fight goes on and the campaign for redesign is about to get stepped up a notch

Someone who made it into Bartlet's Quotations, but I don't remember who, said something to the effect of "Forgive the length of this letter. I didn't have time to write a short one."
Senators (more accurately Senators' aides) need to have the condensed version, which is very difficult to write without oversimplification.
And GDJMSP is right - forget your Representative, the fight is in the Senate.

There is one fear I have on a design change. Not to offend anyone, but some state quarters are horrid. Hopefully a nice design will win out. Got my fingers crossed.
Although it is good to exercise your constitutional rights, in my cynical opinion the die is already cast so to speak. I truly believe that most of the decisions are madewith little attention paid to what constituents actually want.
