OT: Your Favorite Quotations

I am working on a project involving quotations - really good ones - profound quotes from persons of note - stuff that has stood the test of time. Considering there are hundreds of members here - might I impose on you to share some of your favorites? There just might be some pearls of wisdom I can use.

Thanks!
"I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my Grandfather did, as opposed to screaming in terror like his passengers."

Except the lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it.
    --psalm 127

TRUTH is within ourselves; it takes no rise
From outward things, whate’er you may believe.
There is an inmost center in us all,
Where truth abides in fullness; and around,
Wall upon wall, the gross flesh hems it in,
This perfect, clear perception – which is truth.
A baffling and perverting carnal mesh
Binds it, and makes all error: and, to KNOW,
Rather consists in opening out a way
Whence the imprisoned splendour may escape,
Than in effecting entry for a light
    Supposed to be without.
-- From “Paracelsus” by Robert Browning
Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.
