I have to agree with Claus, this GEM has some very clean fields and the devices seem nik free... It also appears to have a very decent strike for this year, with sharp Bell Lines.... I think you have a winner. If for some reason the coin grades lower, then submit this photo in for grading.

  • I'm going to need to find some more dealers with Frankies to cherrypick through. I've been through everything my dealer has to offer. I think there is a local show in 2 weeks. I can't wait. I've got the Frankie Bug!!!.................Ken

MS66 FBL. The coin looks remarkably clean!

    Nice Mint set Half.
66 wouldnt seem unreasonable to me.
If it was a NGC 67 ,I couldnt disagree.
Would yall say the reverse strike is quite sharp?
    Looks super nice to me.

Lock 66 w/ a shot at 7 (if it wasn't for the reeding mark above the eagle).

A Pcgs ms67 is extremely tough and rare, even more rarer then a 53s FBL. I think to get that designation a coin needs something special such as some awesome rainbow type toning to persuade the graders for a grade bump.... I have seen two ms67's, both had some awesome awesome rainbow type toning and nik/hit free surfaces.......

  • I will try to take a new picture afterwhile. For some reason my pictures as pf late have been showing brown toning all over. Actually, this coin is silver with rainbow toning around the perimeter on the obverse and reverse. Right now, I am busy cooking1.......Ken

What are those dings above the L's in dollar? Would these impact the grade?

Looks like a relatively clean (lag of marks) coin with fbl. I too believe it would grade 65fbl; with the gouge and lack of detail in the sideburn, I would disappointed if I got this as a 66fbl, BUT, I've seen worse in 66 slabs.

    Good pictures Ken!

Looks like a good candidate for 65FBL had it not been for the hit above dollar as pointed out by Russ. Very nice coin!

Great (updated) photos. I now see a couple more marks (especially the one or two tics by the ear on the obverse) and change my overall impression by a point.
    MS65 lock, shot 66.
