    Thank you David Schweitz!

First coin is a rainbow toned 1949D MS67* coin. Second time I've own this coin as I've seen it go thru 6 owners in the last 6 months and go from a PCI MS67 to a PCGS MS66 to a NGC MS67*. This baby has had quite the ride!

Second coin, also from David Schweitz, is a 1953S MS68 that I've owned three times in the last 18 months. I bought this one in a NGC MS67 holder from Heritage, sold to another Board member who crossed it to a PCGS MS67. He then sold it back to me and I sold it on ebay to David Schweitz who then upgraded it to the NGC MS68 holder it now resides in.

History on coins is kinda neat!

There wasn't much to buy there. The nice stuff went for insane money in the auction.

I picked up 3 coins I really like:

Rainbow Peace dollar graded NGC MS63*. It's one of the best rainbow Peace dollars I've ever seen.

California Commemorative graded NGC MS66. Picked this up out of the Heritage auction. The photo is much darker than the coin really is. The toning is really much lighter and more colorful. The obverse photo seems to show more of a dark gold/brown and purple. In reality it is light gold surrounded by reds, greens, and purples. The reverse is also lighter with the same colors and a shot of light blue around the bear.

The third coin is a San Diego commem with nice light red toning. It's an MS65 (raw) and in at NGC right now, so I don't have a photo.

I love that peace. Most peace dollars don't tone well at all.

Here is a sweet little pattern gem that I purchased from Rick Kay at the show. He has a remarkable group of high grade patterns. The image does not do justice to this coin. The mirrors are super deep and flashy. The Liberty nickel design is very impressive in copper.imageimage

image I wish I had the cash to collect US patterns from the 1800s. Those coins are amazing.

No pics, but I purchase a few that I really like at Long Beach. I picked up a gorgeous 1832 quarter in 58 (ex: Walser), an Isabella in 63 that I think should have been graded higher, and an EF40 '09-Svdb in a PCGS slab that is nicer than most the 45's I've looked at.

Greg - i've seen both those coins in person. Both of them are extremely nice although i'm partial to the California.

I saw that California. Let me know if and when you want to sell it. I got the 1938 Texas set out of the Heritage sale. I can't believe it went as cheap as it did.

Anaconda- Thanks for the complimentimage The coin is much nicer in person. I can't accurately capture the toning on this coin for some reason. I am very happy with to have it.image

I hate seeing pictures of coins that tempt me when i can't buy any coins right now, so this is a compliment to Anaconda, I don't currently own a half dime in my type set, but i just visited your website and the 1868 proof 66 cam. meets my standards in all areas for luster, strike ,original color. Since i can't buy any coins right now for obvious reasons, i highley recommend that anyone who likes half dimes look at this piece. Also the picture quality on your blow up images is outstanding Anaconda.

ANACONDA, that 1938 Texas was a great coin. I was going after it, but it blew past what I was willing to pay. Still, $5000 was a good price for it.

Did you get the D & S also or just the P? The others were nice, but a little too dark for my tastes.

Hey Barberlover...thanks for the compliment on the half dime.

    Hey Greg!

I got the whole set. Yes, one of the three coins was head and shoulders above the other two darker ones.

Additionally, I would like to publically thank Nucklehead for his generosity and for thinking of me when he ran across a Coca-Cola bobblehead Santa. It is really cool! image

I bought a coin, offered to me by a dealer who was calling from the LB show, though I was in Seattle. Does that count?? If so, will post a picture tonight.
