Stupid Statistic

I noticed in my Excel spreadsheet that I have a column for the value of my coins, and a column for the denomination of the coin. Summing and dividing, I get a value of 185.9 (e.g. the value of my collection is 185.9 times the face value). So what's that mean? If I only had $20 gold coins, I'd be a wealthy man...

I'm not sure anything useful could be derived from that number, but I'm not a statistician.

It means you shouldn't buy big macs with your coin collection.

I'll bet the folks that collect smaller denomination coins would tend to have a higher ratio than those that collect silver dollars or gold coins.
