1822 Bust Quarter - Opinions Please

I won my first large sized bust quarter on an Ebay auction with Buy-it-now. I believe that it might upgrade. Anyone else have an opinion or care to comment.

It looks like a really nice coin for the grade. The current bid is only $110, but that amount of money can't buy coins like that in this market.

  • My 2 cents...I believe the grade is accurate...I like the coin!
  • Don't know about upgrade, but it has nice strong lettering on the reverse and nice surfaces. Nice coin.

I like the coin very much. Congratulations. I think the rev is VF, but I think the obv is more properly F15.

Of course, grading is an art and not a science...

that is a very nice original quarter, and would not look out of place in a F-15 holder, Don't think it's quite a 20, however that coin has more eye appeal than lots of VFs out there, and feel $175 is a great price, and would pay that easy.

  • I think it is a great coin, and I almost regret not pulling the trigger when I first saw it posted image

I agree with most of the others. It may upgrade, but is fantastic for the grade, and I hope you didn't have to mortgage your house. NICE DEAL.

i would call it vf-25, but value considerably higher if as original as it looks.

Looks nice. I would have called it F15.

If I saw it first, I would have thought hard about pulling the trigger. The amount above sheet may have stopped me. (Of course I have not sound a nice one near sheet price and so I have none!)

Hi...Just an update on this coin. I cracked it from it's PCGS holder and submitted it to NGC. The grade was posted today - VF25.

That's a nice little bump. I wouldn't have graded that coin that high, but I agree with the other comments that it was an excellent looking coin. My thoughts were more in line with EvillageProwler's. Good job.
