Journey Of A Rainbow Morgan

There once was a rainbow Morgan (1884-O) Mr. Seller had her on Ebay as a RAW MS63 Mr. Buyer places his bid and wins the coin for $114.50 end of story?? Not exactly, the coin somehow gets slabbed (Mr. Buyer??) by NGC as MS 63 (WOW an accurately graded raw coin on Ebay image) then it reappears on Ebay but it is now an NGC MS63 and it is worth over $600!!! Moral of the story is know your coins and you can buy raw (even from Ebay) and make a lot of money (maybe) or better yet keep it for yourself as a good deal.

  • Wow. That first scan is horrible compared to the next slabbed auction! BTW: It was slabbed by PCGS and not NGC like you said.

Moral of the story part two: Learn to image coins correctly. Had it looked in the first auction as it does in the second, my hunch is it would have brought quite a bit more than $115, raw or not.

So the moral of the story is that being in a slab increases the value $500.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

Moral of the story...you never know who's watching image. None of the bidders the first go around bid on the coin the second go around.
