A nice coin is a nice coin. I think I would put any date/mint into my collection. I would even put an MS70 1964-D Lincoln if I could find one cheap! Now, I would not put any circulated common stuff, but if there was a stunning common date at the right price--it would be considered.

I would never buy any MS/PF70 coin because I truly don't think ANY coin is perfect.

All the Kennedy 90% and 40% halves that I've been collecting from the bank won't make it into my collection. I've put together 1.5 rolls of 40% and .5 roll of 90% since the beginning of the year and they are purely for the investment, oh yea, and the fun of buying silver at face value! image
I've had great transactions with people like: drwstr123, CCC2010, AlanLastufka, Type2, Justlooking, zas107, StrikeOutXXX, 10point, 66Tbird, and many more!
  • Also the Jefferson... only from ten rolls, one would go to my collection, because it has a great struck
  • Anything minted after 1964.

I'd avoid anything that's been colorized.

I would never add a coin I don't like- there is no reason to collect what you don't like...

Private mint coins, especially those that are made as deceptively close copies of authentic mint products.

I don't have any plans on adding any of the following coins to my collectiong as well as colorized or gold plated coins:

  • I like most coins, really. It's hard to say what I wouldn't collect.

    Any Modern Commemorative.
  • I refuse to buy those trade center "recovery" pieces. I will not support some greedy bast***s desire for a sale at the expense of the memory of all those people who were murdered.
