Bob Greene and RKKay - The Message in the Entrails

I found the entire issue interesting. As I had no idea of the real facts, I chose not to comment. Of course that normally doesn't stop me, but in this case it did!!

In any event, what impressed me was how this board was able to help solve the problem. I believe the numerous responses encouraged both gentlemen to reach a resolution.

This shows to some degree the importance of maintaining a reputation in the coin market. Let's continue to be vigilant. Whether all our comments are great, the fact is that they are listened to. I for one have a list of dealers I will not do business with because of their poor reputation here on the Board, or even due to the kind of comments they make here on the Board. I also discovered some dealers that I now do business with due to Board referrals.

Let's keep up the good work. It's our hobby, let's keep it working!

I agree with Typetone. Park Ave. did resolve the problem, although I'm not sure I'd like the "deal" that RKK got.

    It was, however, educational.

I don't believe anyone strong armed Mr Greene into caving in, resulting into a compromise at best. How can a "done deal" work between dealers if the end result depends upon the approvel of a client who is a collector. If the buying dealer doesn't want to end up getting stuck and can't afford to inventory the thing then should he had involved himself at this 23K level? And I believe some responsibility falls on the seller dealer about dealing truthfully rather then assume and take that chance, strong arming the buyer seller.
