Registry set?

I've almost got a complete set of slabbed, MS Peace dollars. I'm thinking of registering them. The only problem is they're mixed slabs...PCGS/NGC and ANACS...All MS 61 or better. I know ANACS doesn't have a registry but what about PCGS or NGC? Twowood

  • Well, the NGC registry accepts both NGC coins and PCGS coins, but not ANACS. PCGS registry only accepts PCGS coins. So, if you want to have a PCGS registry set, you'd have to cross the NGC and ANACS coins. NGC registry, you'd only have to cross the ANACS coins to PCGS or NGC.

I had gotten the impression that NGC allows other services, but am not sure. I'm sure that one of the other board members will know.

NGC will not allow ANACS slabs because they have no way of verifying the cert numbers. ANACS does not have an online verification, as I understand it.

The NGC registry accepts PCGS and NGC coins. I just experimented with it by putting up my type set of old commemorative silver. You create a file and then they run a matching program to verify you that you have registered actual coins that someone else has not also registered.

The only problems are you don’t get credit for PQ and undergraded coins, and I can’t get the picture function to work.

You don’t have to have a complete set register. All you do is enter the coins you own and add others as you acquire them or get them crossed.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
