Another colorful Jefferson

I picked up this coin at the San Jose coin show last weekend. It was hard to get the light right for this image. I also have a proof that looks like the one in the "Stupid Color" thread, but I couldn't get a good image of it today.

That's a good looker Carl. I have two 62's that just graded at PCGS that are irridescent. I'll put up a pic when they come home. Thanks for the pic.

Its a beauty and much rarer than the proof nickel's I guess. In fact yours is the first business strike nickel I have seen with that color except one war nickel which is alloyed with silver. It had a wild reverse on it. I have some proof nickels with the nice splashes of pastel but no business strikes.

I certainly like that nickel. I've got a 1950D one with a really awesome tone. But no pics right now. It's in the eternal dungeon of PCGS's vault.

I don't know, just a big, ugly blob of black stuff! This was an inexpensive coin, so cheap I could live with the black spot. Of course it would be nice if it wasn't there...
