New additions to PCGS Pop Report: 1943 Copper Cents

The new PCGS on-line population report shows two new Lincoln issues: a 1943 Copper in MS61BN and a 1943D Copper in MS64BN. I believe that prior to these two coins being included in the pop report, PCGS only labeled 1943 coppers and 1944 steelies as "mint errors" and did not show them in the pop report.

I had heard that the Goldberg sale in the Spring might include a couple of 1943 coppers as well as the 1959 mule (wheat reverse). I wonder if these are the two coins that will be included in that sale?

I'd offer a link to the pop report, but if it worked I don't think PCGS would like that! image

  • NGC has it's stuff together with varieties and PCGS should take note. With the early cents NGC gives the pops on the Sheldon numbers while PCGS just groups them together. IMO PCGS's lack of variety recognition is very second rate and IMO not professional. A professional service would recongnize and give the population on major varieties.
