I have been using a database that dingodog has been developing, CoinInventory. I have free access to the product for a testing purpose. Its has many auto populated feilds and the capability to add photos of coins. They automatially update the pricing data. Check it out. He may have started his first release January 1. In which case the software cost $79.99. You can check out the demo software at:

    Linky-poo to CoinInventory

I have enjoyed using it very much. They are putting alot into this product and its not all done yet so you have a chance to get it the way YOU like it too! Try it out.

I can't even get a registration confirmation back for CoinInventory. Is the developer a board member? Name? Thanks .

    edit:can't spell
Some refer to overgraded slabs as Coffins. I like to think of them as Happy Coins.
  • Excel has worked for me now for 3 years of collecting.
I have 2 pages for types of US Coins, a page for world coins, and another to keep track of Bulk coins, like Junk silver. I can also add picture links to my coins as well. I include Price's, comments on when and where I bought them, and them forumla's to calculate how much i have spent.
Not to bad, but I would guess coin software might be better.

CoinInventory, it works great. It's by far one of the better coin programs i've used. and as a + if you do have any complants about it you can contact the maker through a PM.
  • I've been using an excel spreadsheet I developed which has individual pages in one file for each collection. The pages with totals, numbers of coins, percent complete etc all link back to a page with summaries of the collection.

I tried CoinManage and was frustrated by some features, and frustrated by not being able to get price upgrades.

  • same here..excel spread sheet....pages for each collection...added columns for price paid...who from... date acquired....then % complete...works well for me and its free....

    Cheers

  • I just downloaded coininventory3 hrs man was it slow
  • I use CoinManage and am quite pleased with it. Regardless of the approach you use remember that all software and hardware
