Okay, I like the first year of issue. And I like the rev78. But Dog, did you ever, or do you still drink that old rot gut wine Red Mountain?

If you you ever did than you know what it was like the next day. And the mess it made. But hey I'm talking of the good ole days so that means I have respect for your new sweetheart.

utterly delightful envelope toning. i like it! i would grade it ms-64 due to the friction, which is almost always the case w/ coins stored in an envelope.

I love it, I love those grungy (I mean that in a good way) looking Morgans. The only problem is that PCGS is hard on them.
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

    Yes Dog,

Tha that coin stands out in its own unique way, even in the toned crowd. Anyway, its inner beauty that counts, right? image

Interesting "flesh-toned" Morgan, Dog (being tactful for a change).
    Where did you find it?

    Man you guys are rough!!
I see dorkkarl can enjoy a ...er...hmmm....toned Morgan. PCGS 64 is what it is. I don't know about envelope tone but it's either that or some kind of album deal.
Elcontador must be getting mellow in his old age-usually he calls that vomit toned or body fluid tone or something like that.
Truthfully I think it has look better than the pict but I haven't seen it yet. That's an eBay scan.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

  • That is a monster Morgan Dog. It kinda scares me!
I'm trying to become the person my dog thinks I am

    Dog -

Sorry if I 'disappointed' you. I did mention that I thought your 83 CC GSA Morgan appeared to be "vomit-toned," and asked if you had to pay extra for it.

Maybe you could start a trend. Get about 100 of those coins, hype them and then sell them for a premium. If it worked for those double eagles found on the sunken steamboat which were sold 4 years ago, why not with "vomit-toned" Morgans? IMO, your $s certainly have more 'personality' than those double eagles (yes, I saw a number of them personally before they were sold).
