These coins are awesome... I searched all over at the Long Beach show for some silver ones and didn't find a single one. A very beautiful series of coins that I still need to purchase.....

If you like it, there are alot of other attractive and moderately priced British coins out there...spend some time looking for them at coin shows or surf ebay. The Edward VII Florins as well as the Gothic Victorian Florins are real eye catchers.

  • Pandaamerica?!!

Many moons ago I bought some gold rounds from them. Gold went up about 40% and I tried to sell them back and they said they don't buy "gold panda" coins. Ahem, they forgot they sold them I guess.

They used to [maybe still do] have a shop at home type of show hawking worthless foreign proof sets, used Rolexs and other marginal material. They are down there in the much along with the Coin Vault.

I dunno, I got all my panda and year of gold coins through their e-bay auctions at very good prices. Just cause someone sells gold, doesnt mean they buy it from people. I have never seen their show, so cant comment on that.

The Britannia are awesome coins... recently acquired a 1987 gold proof set with all documentation at a very good price..... just beautiful. Cheers, RickO
  • They are beautiful coins, as are many foreign coins. Are they considered simply bullion, or are they actually collected as a series?

The 2002 Britannia is a hair larger than the dollar.However. it fits comfotably in the dollar holder. Twowood

    1907,

The coin is 40MM, which I believe is the same diameter as the SAE.

EDIT: Damn, I should refresh before responding. You guys are quick!

The "reverse proof" 2 pound Britannia is actually the Unc version. The Proof version has the traditional mirror fields and frosted devices.
  • Thanks for the link to Britannia info, cosmic. btw, nice coin you have there!

If the BRM continues the way they have been, it won't be until late October or early November before the 2003 Britannias come out. The 2002 Britannias just came out within the last quarter of 2002. Strange, huh? image
