Half Dollar Pictures ***Warning*** Super huge pictures - SIZE REDUCED

I'm testing my camera (Nikon Coolpix 4500) to see if I can get decent pictures. Please tell me what you think of the pictures, and the grade, if you want. All are PCGS graded.

Nice crisp detail TJ -- and great coins. The files need to be compressed for user friendly posting here but you certainly have gotten the hang of the camera. Have you tried using any solid background colors yet? With PCGS slabs it's recommended.

Here's the first coin cropped, combined and reduced a bit:

Deffinately some nice detail but yeah what Paul said. I would not post any picture that is over 50k all yours were over 340k and more than one of those is gonna kill someone still on dialup.

Took 5 minutes to open all images. Well worth the wait. Spent 30+ minutes enjoying each of these great pics.

    Thanks
  • Great pictures. Post more.

Those are nice images. I like the results. I may need to look into a new digi cam sometime soon. Great coins, I just got the drool wipped up off the keyboard.

Great pictures and other than reducing them, try cropping them a little closer to the coin. A good digital camera can really bring out the detail. I think you will enjoy learning the ins and outs of digitalizing and using editing software. Adds a new dimension to the hobby.
  • Really good pictures, tjkillian!

    Is the 1882 seated half a proof? I’ll make a guess: PR64.

    Some guesses, good.

Dan1ecu, yes, that is a proof 1882. No, it is not a proof 64, but very close, except for the designation image

DOOPS, very close on the early stuff. None of them are AU-53. The Kennedy's I think are pathetic, but then I don't collect that series very closely.
