Should I submit this for my first slab

I have no slabs yet. Should I submit this as my first? It is a proof. Just so I can have a slabbed one. Need advice from the experts. Thanks

  • Pretty clean looking, but there doesn't look like there's much (if any) cameo. I'd hold off on that one.

I "mirror" MastaHanky's opine. I doubt that one could come out worth the slabbing fee - no cameo showing.

    No.

Cheaper to buy a slabbed coin that you do not already own.

I had a proof quarter of that date that was already slabbed by ANACS as MS67 and it even had cam on certain places (i.e. "In God We Trust" was Camed), and it sold for $5 on ebay. No offense, but it looked nicer than yours too. If you want a slabbed coin, I would get one on ebay. They are a helluvalot cheaper a lot of the time.

  • Thanks for all the input. Which leads to another question. Are the grades of proofs dependent upon the cam or dcam being present? All the responses I received tend to make me believe this. This quarter that I have is the only proof that I own and it does not matter if it grades a pr69 or an au50. All I want is a coin of my own slabbed by me. Since I only paid 1.00 for it all I will have invested is the cost of getting it graded. It is either this coin or one of my uncirculated Ikes. Thanks everyone.
