I spoke with Bill Conroy at NGC This afternoon..............

About the coins I sent back. They admitted there were some mistakes made and they have corrected them.
The miss attributed Kennedy's were corrected as well as one recieving a cam designation.
Both of my 71s Nickels up graded. One to pr 68 ucam one to pr67ucam.
There was another but I forget what it was as I was driving down the road and talking to Bill.
We also talked about my 59 franklin and he explained why it recieved the star and not a Cam designation. We both agreed it is a very attractive coin.
John And Bill are true gentlemen and I did them a disservice in my tantrum.

They have also credited me with 5 submissions.

To John and Bill I say thank you very much.

They even asked Rick M. his opinion on one of the coins for my next submission.

I am glad it was resolved. As stated in my response to your original thread, NGC works hard
to resolve problems, as demonstrated in your case.

Bill Conroy was one of the instructors in the Advanced Grading course at ANA Summer Camp last July. He is a stand-up guy, as are all the NGC folks I have had the pleasure of meeting. Glad your issues were resolved to your satisfaction. image

Excellent! I think, in no small part, these forums (both here and 'there') assist in lighting the fire of customer service for NGC, and PCGS. I'm glad it all worked out for everyone!

NGC has made me money. Ive lost money using PCGS, most of which was since they went public as CU.
An NGC PR68CAM Washington dated 1958 may not sell for quite the same money as one in a PCGS holder, but it will sell for a darn sight more money than the exact same coin will in a PCGS holder with a PR67 grade on it. If you want to make money selling coins, the answer is obvious.

Braddick: you are so right! PCGS is just now learning what NGC has demonstrated - the forums are a valuable source of goodwill and feedback!

This is indeed on of the jewels of these forums, i.e. relaying a problem or a mistake by one of the services and then contacting them to get it corrected. It not only shows others how best to approach them, gives the party a chance to vent and the end when they make good its great publicity for them. It's all too easy sometimes to forget that there are many hard working dedicated people who work for PCGS and NGC. I always find these type of posts interesting.

And now for something positive about PCGS...

Last month, I panicked when the rubber ring inside my PCGS slab started to turn yellow. I thought my 1803 dollar (AU50) was also going to be affected. I hurriedly sent the coin to Charlie Kahler, and he took care of the coin and of me. I got the coin back a couple of days ago, and it looks the same as before -- beautiful!

The length of time was monstrously long, but that's mostly due to the holidays and my sense of impatience. However, Charlie nicely put up with my neurosis and always replied nicely and calmly.

    I am happy...

    Thanks, Charlie!

They admitted there were some mistakes made and they have corrected them

The point is, you had to correct somebody to get what you originally paid for... This shouldn't happen to this degree and in that quantity!

What if it was somebody not as knowledgeable relying on the "experts?" (Maybe to even learn... hah!)

It is not like they are a discount grading service(i.e. ACG) where it is expected.

In my opinion, you had every right to throw a tantrum. You paid for a service and you expected to get it!

    Enough said.

I appreciate that you could understand,But in the long run they would have,in my opinion, fixed the problem.
In other words I could have handled it better.
They are on there way back now and I'm getting all tingly with anticipation.
I missed my kids. And so does my daughter. She's 18 months and teething to beat the band.
She used to gnaw on my $25.00 Platinum Eagles,Now she has an afinity for Proof Franklins.
