I'm not sure if it was this one in particular, but there was one that went to $13K + and ended up being a "not sold".

that was more of a question then a statement
if the 88 sells for 13k i need to get mine sent in to pcgs
i haven't seen it since 88

Very nice coin Russ. I only own 1 piece of gold (St. Gaudens) and was able to stop. But I have tremendous willpower...hope you do too

Nice coin! It does not look cloudy, and it has no copper spots.

I bought one of these in the secondary market for less than the issue price, but but not late enough. Today I could have bought it for even less!

This is the one I'd asked about concerning gold content. Turned out to be a very nice piece; not a speck of haze anywhere on the coin. Haze is the one thing that will have me packing up a proof for return shipping faster than anything else.

I'm thinking that these in 69DCAM, assuming they've earned the grade, are a pretty good deal compared to a lot of other stuff out there.
