Present for myself - Old slab!

I got this off ebay once the reserve price wasn't met. The seller was very nice and is allowing a three month payment plan which works perfectly for me. I know people have asked what the regency holder looked like, so here is the one I bought:

Not sure I understand the reason for making such a thing - maybe for displaying a coin on your coffee table or something?
