OT - Extra Christmas present...

A bit off topic, but a bit unusual for here. I live in Southern Missouri and we're getting SOCKED with snow. Almost 18 inches total, and it's finally winding down to flurries. What's more, I love snow! We've been out digging our way around, my six year old can barely walk in it. It's above his knees.

Anybody wanna join me for a snowball fight??

The following photo was taken around 10AM, with about six more inches of snowfall left to go...

It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

In a few more hours we'll have plenty of our own here in New York. Then I'll be able to throw a few snow balls back your way.

Wish we could have a White Christmas ......... instead all we get in Atlanta is:

"Hoverin' by my suitcase, tryin' to find a
Warm place to spend the night
    Heavy rain fallin', seems
I hear your voice callin' "It's all right."
    A rainy night in Georgia,
    a rainy night in Georgia
It seems like it's rainin' all over the world
I feel like it's rainin' all over the world"

Ohh neat! Looks like lots of people will be stuck indoors for the holidays. Time to put some coins up on eBay. image
  • Lucky you, I live in Wisconsin and we have no snow at all.

  • In Central Illinois, I am up to my yule log in snow. Woohoo. Cold temps, high winds and snow. The hat trick of
winter weather. Luckily, no traveling for me. Maybe tomorrow we will make politically incorrect snowmen and snow
    women.

I'm glad you like the snow! You can have any we might get here. image Although it's just raining right now... I learned to hate snow the first winter after getting a drivers license and having to drive a really bad 1978 Chevette.

We only have a few inches and it is way too dry. It is below zero right now so it isn't like winter is missing here, just snow. Really sucked for hunting too. Probably end up having snow into June like last year. It just seems winter has pushed back on the calendar.

I do agree with the driving part. I hate people who have no clue how to drive in snow. Makes it dangerous for those of us who have been doing it for years.

I thought I would update those who are interested and don't get the white stuff where they live. This is one of the best photos out of a group I took today while driving the family around to look at the snow. The sky is clear today, at least a foot of snow out there, and the temperature is right about at freezing....a beautiful day!

  • Drat, I live in Spokane Washington, and No Snow yet. I was hoping we would get dumped on as well.
Kinda of Ironic, it usally snows here quite a bit through Winter, so my Dad bought a brand new snowmobile,
but has not been able to use it.

I used to live near Missoula MT. In the winter of 1996/1997, we got about 80" of snow in a two month time period, it was messed up.
