Do you know anything anout "Collectors Internet"

Has anyone ever dealt with this company? Do they stand By their refund policy? I bought a 1911 D $2 1/2 Gold Indian advertised as BU Choice MS63. I received a coin that was marked on their own flip as MS62 and, in my opinion would probably grade abou AU58 (I'm not a coin Grader and usually buy slabbed coins for that reason. They did give me a 14 day return policy so I'm counting on that. I returned the coin 1 hour after receiving it.

I'm a little mad and probably reacting negatively too soon.. but I sent them a lot of money.

Has anyone had positive or negative dealings with them?

Can you make me feel better about this?

looks like a nice site. I have seen it before. For me, no scans no purchase...EVER! Too much "subjective grading" working on behalf of sellers to ever get properly graded coins.

return it and stick to dealers who have photos or an Ironclad reputation as ethical, honest graders.

  • I was stung on Ebay buying non-slabbed coins. Even scans can be very, very deceiving. But this seemed to be a very reputable company. I negotiated quite a while and the guys e-mails clearly said "Choice BU MS63"
  • Those are the same guys that have shown up on ebay under 4-5 different names, listing hundreds of coins with the same crappy scans, then getting NARU'd for unknown reasons. All their coins are overgraded and misrepresented, you could try ten of their offerings and they would all turn out the same as your $2 1/2.

  • The Crazy part about this is that they talked about a "Choice BU MS63" and then sent me a coin in a flip marked MS62.

They have frequently listed Two Cent pieces on eBay with lousy scans. In several cases, I've eMailed and asked for better scans. They've never responded, so I've never bid with them.

  • They will only send you a scan of the coin, if the value is $5K or more.....Hmmmm no thanks. Even with the 14 day return. Too much trouble for this poor old farmer.

They grossly over-grade, and they charge like they've graded accurately. I had some dealings with them in my more numismatically naive days that ended very badly. Stay away from them.
  • I guess I'm at that Naive stage in my life!

I try to do it right and end up in these situations.

    Dan,

I just wish I'd had these boards when I started out!

Believe me, we all have our stories to tell... Don't feel bad!
  • Happens to everyone. Good thing is that you realized the problem and returned the coin. A lot of people wouldn't know enough to even do that.
  • These people are CROOKS! They used to be on ebay as "Beverly Hills Coin Club. They also shill bid their auctions. They overgrade everything and they are hell to get a refund from. It took me weeks to get my money back from a GEM trade dollar that was, at best AU55. They finally returned my money after withholding $10 for their "expenses"!!! LOWLIFES
