I have 1973 1978 1977 1975 really not sure why they were down there in the basement in a box. I don't remember where they came from or why i have them.

My grandmother would buy me a proof set for Christmas every year - she started in 1968, when I got interested in coins. So I have from 1968-1995, when she died. I've bought a few from the B/S/T board to fill out the earlier years, and now I'm back to 1958.

I'm witrh lanlord and a couple of others. I have an original mint issue proof set of every year since 1950 as well those from 1938 - 1942 in plastic holders. For what its worth, I also have all the mint sets that the mint has produced (1947-present). The earlier sets aren't particularly high quality (someone would have slabbed them), but I enjoy having them, nonetheless.
at least one, in original mint wrappings, from every year starting with 1955. Slowly working my way backwards, but they get expensive the older they get.

I am slowly making my way from 1962 on up. I have twenty (last count if I remember) but I have several copies of some. When I buy from the mint I will buy five and keep two, sell off or give away the rest.

I have 49 sets. I have a run of sets from 1955 to date. I also have a 1986 Prestige Set and 1992 Premier Set for type. From the Eliasberg Collection I have a 1971 Proof Set. I also have 3 Proof coins from 1942.
I have Proof sets from 1953 to present, as well as every silver proof set and every prestige set. In forty years when my son is my age, he might appeciate having them. I intend to go back to 1950 on my proof sets. I also intend to begin collecting an entire set of Mint sets over time.
If I happen to get a winning lottery ticket, I'll make it a pojnt to pick up every one of each, if not, I'll stick with what I would reasonable feel comfortable with spending.

I assume you mean intact. Funny thing about proof sets, I used to have...uh, what was I talking about? I accidentally looked at LanLord's sig line. Where'd that picture come from anyway?
I've got all of them from 1950 to date. I don't have any of the missing mint mark varieties or the "type" varieties. The most unique group I have is a shipment of 5 1952 sets complete with the original mailing wrappers.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
I guess I was under the false assumption that "proof set" indicated the coins in the original package as issued. I responded that I have zero proof sets, but I guess that's wrong if we're counting pieced together sets that were either removed from their packaging or were bought separately.
I have probably 30-40 proof sets minus half dollars if you count it that way. I don't have any half dollars - don't like them.
..........i have an almost complete run from 1955-present and it seems there are usually 10-20 lying around that i've bought for one or more coins. i just got rid of about that many, ones that weren't worth breaking up after i got them home under some good light. the search continues..........

The neat thing is, whenever anybody brings up a variety or observation about a proof; I have something to dig out and look at!
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...

For my personal collection I have 0.
If you count the "put together" 1897 & 1997 sets, well it's a few more but I voted 2.
