Would you sell "junk" coins on eBay to make Six Figures per month?

Take a look at these statistics for a seller on eBay that sells mostly ~NTC~ ~PCI~ and ~RAW~ coins. He (She) also sells some NGC stuff, but not much.

Current active auctions:

Number of auctions: 409
Number of auctions resulting in a sale: 384 (93.89%)
Average number of bids per auction: 8.0
Average high bid: $34.82
Average sale price: $34.94

Total value of all high bids: $13,511.25
Total auction sales: $13,417.02

Auctions for the last 30 days:

Number of auctions: 3651
Number of auctions resulting in a sale: 3247 (88.93%)
Average number of bids per auction: 8.8
Average high bid: $113.60
Average sale price: $113.60

Total value of all high bids: $369,330.00

Would you sell coins from these grading services to make this kind of money??

    Lemme guess... billings?

If they were no problem coins, then I'm not deceiving anyone... then again, they'd be PCGS or NGC, maybe ANACS... but since most coins in those holders are depective, then NO... I can't lie like that for money image

Well, go ahead and bash me, but I would. There's a lot worse in the world that you can do then sell garbage slabs for 3 million a year.

But I would give all of my customers a generous return policy image and I'd probably still make $2,000,000.00

Sorry but I had to be honest. Remember, there are alot of people out there that like those companies, if not they wouldn't still be in business.

  • I would never run a business where I knew I was selling deception, which is what I believe these grading companies represent. Not even for six figures per month. I could not live with myself. My reputation is everything when it comes to my company. My business exists because my customers trust me. There are lots of ways to make six figures by selling quality products and services.

I could do it right now with no problem. I have the resources and know how to play the game but I wouldn't do it. I'm destined to be a working stiff and have accepted my fate.

  • Big difference to me in selling junk coins (which I consider just cheap coins ie. junk box coins) and selling junk services slabs.

I wouldn't sell junk slabs, ever. However, I would sell raw 'junk coins' graded properly, described properly, with return priveledgdes, etc for 6 figures a year.

Of course, ya ain't gonna get much profit doing things like that on Ebay. image

    coinbuf,
The problem is these coins are being sold to people who think the slabs are legitimate. Sometimes they don't find out what they are into until they go to sell and it's too late. You can say it's their own fault for not doing the research but the probem is these predators look for people like that to sell to. They know good and well that what they are selling is a joke.
  • Just out of curiosity, how much do you think this person would actually net on thier $300,000 in revenues.
  • My guess would be 10% to 15% net.
