Referring to the link in the first post - that's interesting, a completely generic slab. No company name at all. Of course, grading an SAE as "Unc" isn't really going out on a limb.
The second one does have a company name on the slab - "World Class Grading" (web site). Oddly, their web site only talks about sports cards; the coin section says "coming soon".
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
I am thinking that maybe I could start a slabbing service. Depending on how much you pay for the submission, I might even give you the grade you requested. What the Hey, you are paying and you should get what you pay for and what you want. I think I will call my new company "CSGS" Customer Service Grading Service.
Nah, Now that I think about it, I wont be able to meet the demand......LOL

Our hobby needs to have a position like the "Surgeon General" so he could put the warning "buying these coins is hazardous to your wallet" on the label.

That service already exists. It is offered by Accugrade.
The first one is from The Merrick Mint. They slab colorized quarters and I have also seen US Gold Eagles in their slabs. the use the same slab shells that Coinland used for sample slabs produced and distributed at the ANA this year. Coinland has never produced production slabs, only samples. The shells are unusally wide and thin fron to back.
In the second auction, World Class Grading is actually a sportscard grading service. The only coins they do are colorized state quarters produced to capitalize on bad news. So far the most common pieces I have seen from them are for the WTC disaster remembering the firefighters and police, this first anniversary of WTC, and the death of Dale Earnhart. In none of the cases do any of the proceeds from the sales go to charities, just profits from others pain. The colorized quarters in the WCG slabs are also produced by The Merrick Mint.
Both of these companies are in the slab book. WCG has been around for over a years but the TMM slab is recent, within the past month.
Conder, you probably already know this as ACG slabs have already started to show up on Ebay with other companies names on them, but ACG is now packaging for other companies and has a website giving the details:
As I say, you have probably already seen them but just htought I'd throw it the link out there. Expect a few more 'slabbing companies' to show up, I suppose.
Time sure flies when you don't know what you are doing...
Indeed this is a very interesting link Would that be considered company suicide to put your label inside a ACG graded coin capsule?
This caught my eye:
ACCUGRADE uses a clear, non-PVC, acrylic Dupont plastic. This guarantees, over the long term (30 years or more), that no coin will be contaminated by a PVC film or melt when IRRADIATED. All other services use a soft PVC WASHER OR AN INSERT to cut cost which, over time (1 to 5 years), will leach PVC film onto the coin's surface, especially Proofs within months. NOT ONE COIN OR CARD IN 19 YEARS IN BUSINESS HAS EVER BEEN HARMED IN AN ACG HOLDER.

Huh?
Man, this seller smells. Normally, I'm as free market as anybody, but these two auctions make me want to puke.
