Is it certified? By whom? Raw $300. PCGS or NGC I guess would be anywhere from $1500-$3000. $800-$1000 in ANACS or SEGS. IMHO!

Heritage has a value on a MS67 at $850-$1050. So my guess of $1500-$3000 I think is close. Of course if it was a 3 1/2 legged one you'd be in the six figures!!! Or even an RPM might double its value!!

Thanks for the info, I'd like to buy this coin for only $3000 but I have a feeling this coin will sell for 2-3 times that price. I hope I'm wrong.

    Michael and Tony,

Now that Caitlin has (partially) let the cat out of the bag - you guys are nuts! image

Hit me with it, sight-unseen, at anything below $5000 (and that is wholesale)! Beyond that, I don't want to give too much away, in case the consignor or a friend of his/hers reads this board!
  • I'd likely say $5000 to $8000, depending on the many factors: strike, lustre, eye appeal. The surfaces would need to be immaculate and the strike would need to approach very closely that of a matte proof 67 for the year. I think you'll have a hard time getting it for less than 7K, but you can let us know Caitlin! image

I would guess that if this coin is in a public auction that there would be a few, if not more, serious bidders on it that could really Run the price up on it!

I agree with you. It may see closer to 10k with all the registry hype and everyone having to have the best. There are some people out there with bigger wallets than brains.

I recall you posting want ads on the old boards for MS68 buffs Long before most of us (even I) knew what the registry was. I would enjoy it if you'd post some occasional pics of some of your buffs!

I am also far from an expert, I just play one on this thread!

    Good Luck!
  • Depends on what it looks like. I have a 1913 Buffalo in NGC MS68 that I have for sale at uh....hmmm.....I'm not really sure but under 6K.

    But it looks pretty cool.

Just a boring white coin would be worth around 4 times 67 blue sheet......to me.

Boring and white. That's kinda redundant.

Buffalos above MS67 in most dates go for ridiculous money. I saw a 16-P...that's right a 16-P! go for $10k in the same auction that had a 19-S that was fully struck and rainbow toned ONLY go for $15K because it was in a SEGS holder. THAT folks is absurd....but then we are talking the coin market here so I guess it's just another normal day at the office. lol

Goose, for the protection of everyone's sanity on this board, Caitlin cannot show pics of her Buffalo nickels.
They would drive most of us INSANE! Beautiful coins and some wouldn't recover if they witnessed them. image
