Need advice on grading a circ. 1912-S 5c - Please ignore, bad scans

Is this coin Good, VG, or neither. Any opinions are greatly appreciated. I've included a close up scan of the head band. Any opinions on value?

Please ignore, the scans don't show the detail I thought they would. All letters in LIBERTY are visible except the bottom portion of the I and Y.

  • Hey Don, from the scan I say a "good". You need at least three letters in LIBERTY to be a vg. Looks like a sloid good.image

  • Looks to be good to me. According to photograde, the hair would show more detail and there must be three letters of liberty showing on the headband to make very good.

It looks like a Good-6 to me, assuming that the reverse lettering is strong and complete.

The coin is a Good-4 Obverse, however, the reverse usually wears more than the obverse.
I would need to see a scan of the reverse to confirm that grade.

You are allowed a little wearing into the rim on the reverse for a good, but too much it will go AG-3
