Good Words about Heritage-Thank you from Bama.

The guy handling the door prizes for my club's show got a big box Fed Xed to him from Heritage. It had all kinds of Mint Sets in Capital holders and other kinds of coins in it. Bob Marino furnished a lot of door prizes for our Jan show put on by my club, South Baldwin Numismatic Society.

    Yeah, really cool.

Not nearly as nice, but I know someone who helps run a show and they wrote to the ANA, who in turn sent copies of The Numismatist, auction catalogs, and statehood quarter boards to give out.

    Cool? Very!
Always looking for original, better date VF20-VF35 Barber quarters and halves, and a quality beer.
  • That's very cool, Dog. One thing I felt like bringing up in another thread the other day about Heritage... I really use their website a lot. The thread was pretty negative, and I felt like sharing something about them that I think is good. The website has got a tremendous amount of resource value to me, and I sure haven't done much in the way of funding it by coin purchases through them. That site doesn't maintenance itself. They have to pay for it all somehow.

I for one appreciate that it's there for me to use. Yes, I understand it's in their best interest to make it available. But, if something happened, and it wasn't there anymore... I'd miss it. Now, I'm going to go check on some coin prices from an auction of theirs that ended tonight. That's pretty cool.

  • I have bought several coins over the internet from Heritage and have always been pleased with the result. I finally went into Heritage yesterday to look at some coins with my five year-old son. The folks there (especially Bill) could not have been nicer. They took there time to show me some nice coins and even took time to chat about the hobby. Once I was finished, they gave my son a very nice bag of foreign coins.

I have no hesitations about doing business with Heritage. Furthermore, I posted on the thread you are talking about and complained about not getting a call back for Saturday appointments. The folks at Heritage ended up being very kind and gracious about this matter. I regret having contributed negatively to that original post. I violated one of my own golden business rules that day: "Never pass up the opportunity to say nothing."

    Go well.

Thanks for sharing that Dog, very nice gesture by Bob Marino.

Heritage is an easy target, and I'm as guilty as anyone for griping about their imaging and auction policies at times. But like Clankeye, I use their auction archives on almost a daily basis, free of charge. Without question it's the best online resource for learning about coins and he reminded me of how much I take it for granted.

that is a wonderful thing that Heritage did and they do have a great site. the Canadain Mint sent a rep and a bunch coins for door prices to the last show I was at up here in Maine. The US goverment mint forgets Maine is a state I guess.
