An considering a purchase from him. He seems to have nice material, but
is a bit on the high side pricewise. Also, what opinion do you have of his images?

Win Callender is another good guy to work with. He handles copper and responds quickly to email inquiries.
Obscurum per obscurius
The only times I've been by their exhibit at Long Beach, they didn't have anything I was looking for.

I've purchased three mint state Barber quarters from them (one via their website, two at shows). I can't say that I like their website images very well. The could do a little better in that area. But these folks are A1+ in my book.

Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...

I sent an email about 2 weeks ago requesting further info on a 275.00 coin and have yet to hear anything. Guess that is enough to bother with for someone.
NOTE: No trees were killed in the sending of this message. However, a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

As for those who complain about prices, I'll only say that you get what you pay for if you are treated fairly. People have to earn a living, and if you are selling quality coins, the prices have to reflect that.
If you want to buy coins cheap, quite your job, get some resale numbers and go on the road to the shows and major auctions. If you are honest and count ALL of your expenses, you will see that a dealer who provides you with fair and honest service is the REAL bargain.

Two experiences I had that showed their true colors:
When the NGC forum was first launched I posted an IH that had upgraded from PCGS 64RB to 65RD and seemed to change color along the way. DLRC was the dealer offering it in it's new slab, and John Feigenbaum joined the discussion at the request of a forum member who dealt with him regularly. He wound up returning the coin to its consignor. I was impressed with his total lack of "attitude" and the straightforward way he handled the whole thing.
The first coin I ever purchased from them was an 1899 MS66RD that was one of the most pristine looking IHs I'd ever seen, except for one decent sized spot tucked behind the ear -- a solid MS67 that was downgraded for the spot. I spent three days deciding whether to keep it, and eventually returned it with an email explanation. John Feigenbaum responded with a fairly long email about his own opinion of the coin, but he understood my feelings. I was very impressed. I've since purchased many others from them without a return.
I know you're a very selective buyer Jeff, but you won't have any problem with them as far as returning a coin on your first purchase.

You should get one soon- I think Jack was just away... he took a little time to respond to me, as well- got one yesterday
1. PRICES - One of the best slogans I've ever seen, reads: "PRICE, QUALITY, SERVICE: PICK 2". At DLRC, we've picked Service and Quality to be of paramount importance. That said, we refuse to be undersold and, if you can point out an instance where someone is quoting a retail price lower than ours, we will match or beat it. Not to mention, we do everything possible to price coins consistenly in the marketplace, which (hopefully) is better for everyone. Of course, you can always call or email to discuss the price on any coin. We love to haggle as much as anyone!
2. IMAGES - This is one of the toughest aspects to selling coins on the Internet. We image every coin individually and, with the exception of a few modern commems -- which all look the same, anyway -- we do NOT use the same image for multiple coins. We experimented with this for a few months, but customers complained so we stopped. With regard to the quantity of images, we a a little short-handed right now. If you need an image, please request it on the web site and Kim will take care of it ASAP (usually 24 hours or less). Finally, we NEVER do anything to hide any defects on a coin. It's hard enough to make the images look reasonably as nice as the coin. I think most people will find that the real coin is nicer than the image.
3. WE'RE HUMAN - If we screw up, please tell us. At the rate we buy and sell coins around here, we're bound to miss an email or two. We're doing the best we can!
To eveyone on the message boards....
HAVE A SAFE & HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON. Thanks for all your patronage this past year(s). We look forward to more of the same in 2003. Only better!
Sincerely yours,
John Feigenbaum
