From USA TODAY:
President Bush recast his economic policy team Monday, naming CSX railroad Chairman John Snow his new secretary of the Treasury.
If confirmed by the Senate, Snow will succeed Paul O'Neill, who was ousted Friday along with chief economic adviser Lawrence Lindsey amid White House concern that the economic recovery is too slow and the public is impatient.
Bush needs a strengthened economy to launch his campaign for re-election in 2004. He is intent on showing that, while preparing for a possible war with Iraq, he is equally focused on repairing a struggling economy. The nation's jobless rate unexpectedly rose to 6% last month.

TRUTH
It would be nice to know Snow's views on new coin designs. He does hold firm power on those decisions.
What is more interesting to me is the #1 rumored successor to Larry Lindsey: Steve Friedman, ex-CEO of Goldman Sachs.
