How would you like to give me a Christmas gift that won't cost you much of anything?
I've noticed that a few members have "customized" titles, even though they haven't reached the lofty levels of 10k posts.
Carol, our fabulous administrator, has customized a few for special people, but is hesitant to make this a general practice.
What I want for Christmas is for you all to VOTE in this poll, to suggest that carol should indeed customize my title.
I hope that if there is popular support, she will have no qualms in granting my special Christmas wish.
I want my title to be changed to "Cantor", because, along with coins, I'm interested in singing,
and I'm the cantor at my church, and cantor comes from a latin root for singing, and would be a nice, distinguishing title.
Whenever you see it, you can say to yourself, "Ah, that was our Christmas gift to him. Look, he is still using it".
Whenever I see it, I'll remember your kindness.
I'll probably never reach 10000 posts, but I would truely appreciate this gift, so what say you?
Thanks

As a long time member,I don't have a problem with it.

I think cantor comes from the latin cantare, which is to sing, so I guess anybody who sings can be a cantor.

Maybe so, Cameron...
Looks like there is in general little interest one way or the other here (which is ok, because if Carol does change my title, sounds like not too many people will be upset about it. )
Since I never post in the open forum (maybe once, but I didn't inhale), I'll just pretty-please carol to read this thread, and see what she says.
Thanks, all...

(Imagine this next sentence read in the voice of Tim Conway doing his scandinavian businessman accent, from the Carol Burnett show...)
Hey, that new title looks pretty good out there, doesn't it?

Congrats, that is cool. I grew up and was an acolyte in the Episcopal Church. For those that don't know, it is Catholic, Protestant Catholic, and the priests are allowed to marry. Celibacy is a gift for only a very few, as the Roman Catholics are finally, sadly, realizing. The Episcopal Church for all it's pomp and glory is very progressive here in America and have been ordaining women as priests for many, many years. Also the National Cathedral in D.C. is Episcopal
