Wow, a nice dealer!

I was very suprised a week or so ago, when I brought a cleaned coin (AU Barber quarter) into my local coin shop were I had bought it 6 months or so earlier. I wanted to kind of see what kind of person my dealer was. I told him I wasnt intrested in collecting them. I had changed the 2x2 it was in, he asked me how much i paid for i said 56 dollar. I was looking at some morgans right before i told him, i had my eye on a p/l coin for 60 $'s. He pulled it out asked me if i wanted it, took my coin and gave me the morgan. It doesnt seem so amazing but, for me atleast it is. He gave me the benifet of the doubt that i paid $56 for it, he gave me 4 dollars, and he didnt mark down the price of the quarter to bid.

You did really pay $56 for it right? You were seeing what type of person he was, and it seems like he passed, hopefully you passed also by not lying about the price.

I know dealers have to make a living too...but by God this is the way it ought to be. Sounds like you have a good person to deal with...

By the way...did you know the Barber was cleaned when you bought it from him ?? How up front was he on that deal ??

I bought the coin before the book It had a brown-gold toning on the obv. and dark toning on the rev. it was cleanned and they still couldnt get the black toning of the rev.
