I thought it was interesting that we have many favorite vices present....slothfullness, alcohol and a partially naked woman.
Yes, yes, I know, Franklin wasn't screwing around, he was fishing for electricity. So, trivia question: how many times did lightning hit Franklin's kite?

Who's the kid sitting next to Franklin with the bottle of moonshine?
Everyone knows cherries grow in the ground!

The young man sitting half-drunk next to old Ben is my Great Great Grandfather who was known as DrudetheDude.
Thanks you,
Greg

I don't think balloons were invented yet.
Party favors were all the rage though.

Looking for Nationals, Large VF to AU type, 1928 Gold, and WWII Emergency notes. Also a few nice Buffalo Nickels and Morgan Dollars.
Monty...
Question: How did notes of over a 100yrs ago manage to stay so pristine? I mean without even a fold/crease? Even near new notes today have at least a tiny crease somewhere. Notes are not as durable as coins so I would think damage would occur more easily.
Seriously, probably the same way as gem coins... some wacky collector crazy enough to carefully protect it rather than spend it like a sane person.

zero. a passing storm cloud - not a lightning bolt - negatively charged the kite, string and key.

I wonder what folks thought about in winter when they touched something and got a shock in those days?
