Need help with some pictures

The text for the slab book has now been completed and I am adjusting the final formatting. The final tally is 82 companies, 219 production varieties, 48 sample slab varieties, 37 Novelty slab varieties, 2 Presentation slab varieties, and 14 Body bags varieties. This makes a total of 320 varieties listed plus approximately 24 items in the Miscellaneous section. Any new varieties, companies, or new information turned up after today will have to be held for the second edition. There are still several varieties that I do not have pictures of though. I'm hoping that some of you here on the forum may have examples of these slabs in your collections. I'm trying to come as close as I can to having all of the slab varieties pictured as I can. I realize that it is unlikely that anyone has any of the missing slabs from the more obscure companies but hopefully some of you may have examples of missing slabs from the more common companies. (New pictures can be slipped in without affecting the formatting so they can be added up to the time of turning it over to the printer.) In the Production slabs I am missing these varieties with these identifying features:

Accugrade
ACG 9 San Francisco on back label

Distinctive Coin Grading Service
DCGS 1 No description. Company existed but quickly changed its name. Slabs for this name may not exist. Do not confuse with Digital Coin Grading Service that used same initials.

Investment Rarities Inc.
IRI 3 Text on holder claims million dollar escrow fund

MonExpert
Monexpert 1 Only one variety

Mantra, Tordella & Brookes
MTB 1 Blue insert, label says Mantra, Tordella & Brookes Company
MTB 4 Blue insert with gold border, label says INC instead of Company

Preferred Customer Service
PCS 1 Capital plastics type holder PCS and serial # in upper right corner of label.

Eagle Eye Photo Seal (There are three varieties, I have two of them but not even a description of the third. If you have one that differs from the two described here I need scans of it.)
#1 Company address is in Seahurst WA. The slab serial # in a box just below the center, and the signatures of Richard Snow and then Brian Wagner
#2 Company is located in Tucson AZ, a Website is now listed just above the center and it only has Richard Snows signature.

Professional Numismatists Guild
PNG 2 Copyright date is 1970,1984 certificate is legal size printed in landscape format on one side and portrait on the other. (I had one but can't find it. It may have been lost in my accident.)

Silvertowne
Silvertowne 2 Certificate with color photos. Coin information printed on label, which is folded over the top of the certificate.
In the Novelty slabs I still need these:

American numismatic Association Certification Service
ANACS 15N2 Slab contains the silver version of Amos Press 40th anniversary medal.

Independent Coin Grading
ICG 1N1 Need scan of the back of a Goodacre presentation slab.
ICG 1N4 ICG's version of the WTC recovery coin slab (ICG death slab)
ICG 3N1 Designers signature slab with Intercept Shield insert.

Numismatic Guarantee Corporation
NGC 9N2 God Bless America on bottom border of front label.
NGC 9N3 US flag and head of bald eagle as background of front insert.
NGC 9N4 Nevada Silver Collection on bottom border of front label

Professional Coin Grading Service
PCGS 6N3 This is the slab that was sold on the forum to benefit the NY firefighters. I need a scan of the back.
PCGS 7N1 US flag background on label, four stars showing.
PCGS 8N2 Goodacre Presentation dollar in PCGS slab, barcode on the back.
PCGS 8N4 Golden dollar signature series. Has coin and series numbers on front label. This is NOT one of the Les Fox signature series slabs
PCGS 13N2 Goodacre Presentation dollar in PCGS slab, barcode on the front.

Body Bags

ICG BB1 Eleven Item checklist, only variety seen.

  • Hi,
I've got a PCGS 8N2 Goodacre Presentation dollar in PCGS slab, barcode on the back in MS68. I can't scan or take pictures worth a d*mn, but will try if you want me to. I'd be willing to ship the coin to you for you to scan/pic it if you wish. Let me know through PM. I find what your doing extremely interesting and do hope I can get a copy of it once it is completed...image.

The ICG Goodacre and Death slabs should be easy... I want an autographed copy!

I think DLRC has a flag-background shot of something... I can't check now, but will try to remember later.

  • I've got a Goodacre that says "Goodacre Presentation" on the front and a barcode on the back.

Not sure which one that is... I think there were two varieties, one says "Goodacre Presentation" and one says "Goodacre" if I recall correctly.

Mine also has the (wrong) coin number 9584 on it, it's supposed to be 99584.

Let know if you want it scanned -- do you want the highest resolution possible, or?

    PCGS- American Flag Insert (commem)

I'm sure DLRC will get you an image of both sides if you state your intentions.

  • Supercoin, yours sounds like the PCGS 8N2, yes I'd like scans and High resolution is best but there is a limit to the file size I can comfortably handle as I have a dial up connection and I have to be able to transfer the file from one computer to another via 3 1/2 inch floppy.

Yes please send me the scans to the profile address. I actually have a scan of the front of the #1 slab but I'll use whichever one turns out better.

Airplanenut yes the ICG 1N1 goodacre is easy (If fact so it easy it turns out I DO have that one so drop it from the list.) The various death slabs are not always so easy since for some reason when they are put up fo sale on ebay they often don't bother to scan the back of the slab since it is the fron that matters, and often the pictures are small. PCGS's aren't too hard but some of the others have been tough.

So to recap I've now got promises for

    PCGS 6N3
    PCGS 8N2

    and I no longer need

    ICG 1N1

That's three out of 24 items. Anyone else?

Hi Conder, I've sent you images for the PCGS Firemans Fundraiser and an IRI slab, although, I'm not certain if it is the IRI slab you are looking for. One other thing, however, I think you are looking for Manfra, Tordella & Brookes and not Mantra, Tordella & Brookes.
