Classless Vikings players, what a surprise, NOT

Coming off the sideline and nailing Marques Anderson and Javon Walker after the last play of the game. Very classy. Hope they get big fines

The Puckers need to concentrate more on what happens DURING the game
rather than afterwards! Man, they barely beat the worst defense in the
league and then they whine about getting hit after the game! The Puckers
are the whiners and you know what happens to whiners!

  • Yep, Bucs are a perfect example, Keyshawn and Sapp have whined through out their careers, and have won nothing...
  • Yeah, and the Packers were totally innocent, take off the green tinted glasses dude,

  • Ok, so tell me what they did then to provoke the Vikings? Come on, tell me. Nothing, they were pissed about losing, and just nailed Anderson.

  • I'm with Zimmy, this was started by the Dykes. Don't even suggest it was because of the INT runback instead of just downing it, Hovan was going off on the sidelines even before that play.
  • Joestalin, did I ever say that they didnt have problems during the game? No, they had many problems. I cant wait though till they get guys back, they got 6 starters out, absolutely horrible injury situation. But regardless they still shouldnt have played that badly and allowed that many long runs

Chad....As an expos fan, I guess you would know something about never
winning anything! I didn't know they played football in Canada.

Zim....This is tackle football, If you don't like it the flag football lot is across the
    street!

  • What are you talking about? That made absolutely no sense. I said they totally screwed up, especially on those long runs. I want them to tackle the guy, not slide off him. Man, you are a moron. But I guess everyone alrady knows that cause of your constant bashing of Bonds and basically anyone in the NFL. I dont know if ya bash anyone else in baseball, but I wouldn't doubt it

  • joestalin is a complete moron who is completely Tampa Bay Buccanears biased. I can't wait til the Bucs choke, that'll shut him up. I mean, hello, the Packer players were taken out AFTER the game. Oh, and saying the Packers are whiners, well, umm, I believe the Bucs have the biggest whiner in Keyshawn. And what happens to whiners? They get knocked out of the playoffs, just like the Bucs have done since 1999. I think you need to wake up and notice that the Bucs will be watching the Super Bowl from their homes, not in San Diego, where the Eagles or Packers will be.

    ouch!
  • Give me a break, come on Zim, it's called "you intercepted the ball, kneel on it, game over" why ya got to rub it in by trying to score, I'm not saying anyone is innocent here, it's a heated rivalry, both teams hate each other, this is not the first fight between us and definitely won't be the last, but to make a statement like that and act like Packers did nothing, very sad.
  • Anyone trying to justify what the Vikings did clearly knows nothing at all about sports. The guy comes off the sideline to cheapshot people, that's going to be a big fine and suspension at least, but hey as we all know the Vikings have always been known for drafting high class, high character players...NOT

There is zero justification for what the Vikings did, and if it was Hovan who did it, I hope no one planned on seeing him play any football for a few weeks.
    image

Sweet Jesus that dude smells bad!
  • First of all, I don't think Sharper did that to rub it in, you see it all the time where the defensive player thinks about personal glory at the end of the game. I don't think they do it to rub it in, but I agree that Sharper should have knelt down, I was totally pissed when I saw him running it back. You never know what could happen. But you are saying that's justification for Vikings players coming off the bench and attacking the closest Packer near them? Figures, what else would I expect from Viking fans. Classless people who support a classeless team. I think you guys have had Moss too long because now you defend every kind of unsportsmanlike activity. • In my 15 or so years of watching pro football, I've seen plenty of guys return interceptions when they didn't need to, but I have NEVER seen guys come off the sideline during a live play. That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard of, and you can count on some big time fines and suspensions.

Me and zimmy don't often agree, but he isdead on about how Vikings fans have become so used to their players being a bunch of classless thugs that this latest episode doesn't seem like a big deal to them.

C'mon now Kevin, what have the Bucs won? I know, I know, it's only been 4-5 years since you jumped on the bandwagon, but that's plenty of time to at least get out of the first round or win a playoff game on the road. Especially with the D they've had. You better pray they get home field advantage because if they go in to Lambeau or the Vet, it's over, that is of course if they survive long enough to get that far.
  • Yeah, and as of right now, the Eagles have home field through out the playoffs.
  • Bucs need to get homefield to do anything in the playoffs. We all know, and so do the Bucs, that if they need to go to Philly or GB in January they are finished. They would probably choke at home anyways in the playoffs, but are assured to lose if they go to either of those places

All you can do is keep talking, you all know the Bucs are ruling this year and you
are scared stiff of their defense! We ripped Favre's head off and threw it to
the crowd and we will be doing the same to the Eagles wether it is in the sun
    or in the cold!

Sit up and take notice that we not only have the best D in the league but now
we have an offense!! The offense hasn't looked that good up until now! Last
week everyone (you chumps included) where ready to crown the Falcons the
best team in the league, and we destroyed them on both sides of the ball! Is
anyone going to compare a banged up McNabb or Brooks to Vick???

You can talk about what happened 7 weeks ago , but we are running on
all cylinders now and Philly and the Aints are hurting! You all know that
you can't go deep in the playoffs with backup QB's.

When we get home field, we are only one game away from the super bowl, so
those of you saying we need to go deep don't know how the system works!
We will be watching Philly try to beat Atlanta or the Giants the first week!

I didn't watch the Puckers/Minnisota game, but all I hear is whining from the fans
there. Consider it a gift you scored on the great Vikings D and move on. You
know a quick ousting from the playoffs is inevitable.

It's a new team! Back then we were better than most teams just because of our
defense!! Can you imagine the same monster with an offense??

Oh yeah your a Packers fan...you can't imagine that!

All the snow in Wisconsin isn't going to win you games!!

    JS
  • Kevin, if you are so sure your Bucs can win in the cold you won't mind Never coming back here again after they LOSE to DA BEARS. RIGHT???? If they win, then they actually have proven themselves and I will believe they are the best, but until they win in the Cold, they have proven nothing, especially when the road to the Super Bowl goes through PHILLY, not TAMPA!!!!!
  • When we get home field, we are only one game away from the super bowl, so those of you saying we need to go deep don't know how the system works! We will be watching Philly try to beat Atlanta or the Giants the first week!
Dude, are you stupid? First is the wild card, then the divional then the conference championships. So if you get home field, thats 2 wins away from the Super Bowl and you first need to have Philly lose to either the Redskins, Cowboys or Giants and have the Bucs win out, facing Detroit, Pittsburgh and Chicago. I do know how the system works, and right now, I do not think the Bucs will get home field and will need at least 2 wins to make it to the Super Bowl, one of which may be on the road.

  • I suppose your right Zim, and the punch that Favre threw at Jack Brewer when the Pack was up here in Minnesota was totally full of class? I'm not defending anyone here, all I'm saying is no one is innocent. Figures you'd jump on the "get your cheap shot in on Moss" bandwagon. Everytime someone has a problem with the Vikes it comes back to Moss. And all this stuff about Hovan, he went to shake Favre's hand, but Favre wanted nothing to do with it, yeah that's class for ya,
    JD
  • Brett favre gets pissed that he lost and he leaves the field without shaking someones hand, yet when the vikings are mad that they lose they go and attack a player? You dont see a major difference there? Give me a break

  • All the thing that zimmy has said is 100% correct. The Vikings were just sore losers. The Bucs are not going to win the Super Bowl...they don't have a chance. The Packers are going all the way...and you can quote me on that.
  • hmm, lets see, i agree it was crap, but i agree, take off the glasses. the 1 packer hit the viking guy after he kneeled it down and called time out. and the viking pushed a packer, and a different packer pushed a viking, did you see it?? there wasnt 2 vikings pushing the packers
  • magic1fanmagic1fan Posts: 3,265 ✭✭
being a viking fan i would have to say not a classy move by the vikings after the game and there will prolly be suspentions for both teams. but wasnt it not to long ago that we played the pack in minnasota and we beat them wich was a very big upset, and brett favre threw his 3 or 4th interception and hit the guy out of bounds though he got a fine not very classy on the hall of fame bound favre. me saying these things might up set some people and i dont want any trouble with anybody. and i dont know how people can say that is they get rid of moss they would be better i would have to say are biggest let down other then moss not producing much this year is cullpepper and are defense. and one more thing every body says the vikings suck wich is true this year but if we stink so bad how come we beat at the time the team with the best record in the nfl (green bay) and we only lose to them (green bay) by 4 last night that tells me that the packers are not all there cracked up to be, there good but there other teams in the nfc such as the bucs, niners, and eagles that have better teams. just putting in my 2 cents i am sure i will get a bunch of crap about this but i dont care you guys can stand up for your team and i am to.

  • JBugs, spouting off, saying stuff that doesn't make sense again. What a surprise. First of all, the guy never called a timeout, he knelt on the ground. Two, the whistle hadn't blown, which was a mistake, the league even admitted that (and how often do they admit a mistake?), but since the whistle didn't blown the packer really didn't have a choice but to tackle him. He has the ball, whistle hasn't blown, you tackle the guy, plain and simple. And again magic1fan, you just said something that is fairly common. Players will hit players out of bounds once in awhile. The Viking wasnt that far out of bounds when favre hit him, but he still did (and very mildly I might add, he didnt fling himself helmet first at the guy like a missile. now if Favre had gone over to the Viking sideline and knocked someone down or attacked someone from the blind side or whatever that would be very unsportsmanlike. Im talkin about stuff that is really cheap that doesnt happen all the time, if you want to say that the packers are unsportsmanlike cause they have hit a couple players out of bounds or have put their hands in the face of another player I guess you can, but every team in the league does that. Not every team in the league has blantant cheap shots like Sapp, the vikings on the sidelines sunday night, the bronco who fell on the back of another players leg or whatever. Thats the kind of stuff that is truly pathetic and cheap, hitting illegaly, when someones back is turned, when the game is over, or whatever. If a packer ever did that they would be released immediately like that moron was last year. collector, you remember who that was? I think it was Chris something. He made a couple cheap shots during a game last year and was released that same week, and deservedly so.

that is very true dabeef the clock was at : 00 and they tried running it back for a td just to rub it in if they are the "classy" team they are they would have not tried to run it back. and brett favre hit that guy way out of bounds i have watched the play over and over again and the guy was 3-4 yards out of bounds. it is alright though we got a win againt the mighty pack so i am happy.

"he is the best wide reciever in the game"- TERREL OWENS
  • 1, yes he did call time out moron. he knelt on his knee and called time out, thats why the clock stopped. the whistle didnt blow right away, but most people are smart enough to know that when a guy kneels on the ground and calls timeout you dont hit him whether they call timeout or not. werent you bit*hing about sapps hit a week ago? that too was all legal, so that makes his wrong and the packers right?
  • nobody was attacked from the blindside either. did you even watch the play/game?? or are you "spouting off" with basis of truth once again??
  • zimmy. I remember when that guy got cut but I forget his name too. About when the guy kneeled...we had every right to knock him out. It wasn't a cheap shot or anything.
  • Sapps hit was not legal, that much is clear. But even if you still want to live in your fantasy world that it was legal, it was still a cheap, blindsided, chicken sh!t hit. Sapp saught out to hurt the guy, and even if you want to say it is legal, it was still very cheap. And no, he did not call time out, he just knelt on the ground. And again Magic, read my post, if you ever watched fb you would see that players do that all the time with :00 left on the clock. Watch fb and you will understand that. They dont do it to rub it in, defensive players just do it cause they actually get to touch the ball and want to make something happen. They arent thinking of rubbing it in or anything. But what they should be doing is thinking about kneeling down cause you never know, you could fumble it. And again, this is a pathetic argument, you are trying to defend a hit on a defenseless player by saying someone else returned the INT. Again, classless fans for a classless team. Why dont you bring something up that the packers do that other teams wont do? You cant beacuse they dont do anything like that. They arent blindsiding guys, they arent attacking players after the game, they arent laying cheap chop blocks which could end a persons career, they do nothing like that. And if they ever did do somethiing, they would be suspended or kicked off the team. Thats what I like about this team, if other players cause problems they get rid of them. The Packers and most other teams around this league have something called class and respect.
