Look at this ebay auction for a 1955 DDO

Is there something wrong with this coin? Seller says possible MS-64. Does this coin appears cleaned or dipped? I tried to check the feedback, but it takes forever to look for the negatives (97). Why doesn't ebay separate positive from negative without going from page to page. Negatives shouldn't have to searched page by page. Separate them. Anybody else agree?

    Yes, it's been dipped.

  • Yea, I just noticed seller said dipped. Sorry! Still I don't think you should have to search every page for negatives. My opinion only. I would have to add that for this coin to be dipped and still attain a grade of MS 63 plus is a pipedream.

centsles is one of the several coin doctors i would previously have identified for you. it is a safe assumption that most of what you buy from them has been doctored. when you see this dude at a show, note who he hangs out w/ that will give you a VERY good indication of who some of the other coin doctors are. if you ever look through their copper, the got the kind of disgusting, queasy, greasy-coated large cents that we used to call "slimes". ie. way too much blue-ribbon & deller's.

you can still get lucky buying their stuff, though, if you have the patience to wade through mounds of nauseating, smelly (as in chemically smelly) crap.

Strongly agree...and it's one of the things I like about Yahoo auctions...they are clearly and easily broken out...plus you get more space for feedback...
  • But wait, he is a Powerseller!!! That means he can do no wrong! Right? Wrong!

"centsles" inventory is crap. Alot of it is dipped, brilloed, boiled, baked, etc. He likes NTC, SEGS and PCI garbage. He is a cancer on the hobby.

I dealt with him a few years back and never again.

Sadly he has over 7000 unique buyers leaving feedback. I am willing to bet half were conned by his subpar slabs. Just thinking about this turd makes me want to take a shower!
  • Yeah, dipped and you know what else, all the lettering and numbering was blurry and repeated itselfimage
