you cannot see it from the scan but the colors around the rim are purple, green, red and other colors, quite nice
under light it really comes alive.

I just sent in a 1937-S, Hope the graders are in a Christmas mood!
Give me the grade Please, Please, Please
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
this one will upgrade to a ms 66.
That IS a real nice toned reverse, but if the obverse is dull as you say ,it may not upgrade. But stranger things have happened.Al
tell me what you think
be the picture,I would guess no on an upgrade, but you never know
Tim
Nice dime, and a tough date too! I think the reverse might make 66 , but I'm afraid the obverse might be a marginal 65, hard to get an idea of the luster from the pic. It seems to me that luster is a very important factor in the grading, and that the obverse counts more than the reverse, maybe 60/40. With a gray/brown lack luster obverse, IMHO, I would leave it alone for fear that on a bad day, it might come back a 64. Of course on a good day, you are right, it might make 66, I hope you are better at predicting good days than I am! I'm still trying to figure out if grading is a science, an art, or swamp majic! Congrats on the nice Merc, and I hope you get your upgrade on the first try!
Regards,
Wayne

OK...Here is the Instructions.
1. I right clicked on JB's image and saved it to My Files on my computer.
2. Went to Photo Shop and enlarged the photo to something that is not blown clear out of focus and put it back into my file with a new name.
3. Went to my Web Space (Which is Free with Earthlink) and put the dime on the Web.
4. Came back here and clicked the little picture Icon you see at the top left when entering a post. (Its between U and the http)
5. Typed in the URL from my Web Site. Looks like this. http://home.earthlink.net/~fairlaneman/_uimages/JB20DO.jpg.....That is what came exactly off my Web Site for the picture in this post.
6. Added it to the post and other BS if needed.
7. Click the Enter box or Reply Box and you are in business.
8. OK.....Now you guys try. Use this thread for practice. See if this will work for you.
Ken
Go to Photoshop and modify it...
Paste it back here...

Been messin' with pics. Thanks for the help, once again, Ken!

Sweetly toned Winged liberty, and
Teach Me how you took a picture like this one. Very,Very nice.
Ken
Thats a beauty, like the tone.MS64 FH?And looks well struck, Looks like it took a hit right after the Y , the mark resembles a half moon ,Al
This picture was taken outside in bright sunlight. The sun was behind the coin, and I shaded it and the camera with a white paper towel. Hope this helps.
'course, you gotta have sun! LOL
Al,
I don't see the "half moon" hit after the "Y". Maybe before? I don't remember a large hit there and the coin is now on it's way to PCGS. Nope, not a "'4"!
