  • EF45
  • I'm going to also say XF45, although it would not surprise me if it was an AU50. The large scan can make worn areas appear larger than they really are.

Was xf45 per anacs, crossed to pcgs at vf35.

    i'd say its xf...

"LIBERTY" and stars might be a little weak for xf but this could be strike weakness since it's a New Orleans mint product...the eagle shows wear on the beak, above the eye and below the eye...the eye is plainly visible and the shield is complete...

it's at least xf40...a nice New Orleans seated dollar...image

You were robbed. The wing tips are fully intact, and so is the dress above her breast. Thats a BS call and someone at PCGS needs to take more time actually looking at the coin.

    At least an XF 40/45....
I also agree with clackamas that you were robbed...
A thing of beauty is a joy for ever
  • By the scan I would say a solid XF40... Might say 45, depending on luster. Wouldnt put it as a 35, the leg still has a somewhat rounded shape. Nice FH

i hope you're not very happy then. pcgs was stupid w/ that grade. i mean, it's a NEW ORLEANS for chrissake.

xf40+ in my opinion. again, pcgs DOES NOT GUARANTEE AGAINST UNDERGRADES, so they can screw you right & left all they want in undergrading coins.

they weren't being conservative, they were being stupid. you oughtta complain

    I thought 35 seemed a little low.
Well if Charlie or someone at pcgs see's this maybe they can have a second look at it. It hasn't shipped yet invoice # 3044727 line 6.
If not I will send it back with my next batch.

Since it's not my coin, that's funny. Not really funny, and if it were mine, I'd cry. Hairlines aside, because we can't see those, I would expect a ch. xf 45 grade from the services for that coin. If they were having a bad day, MAYBE xf/40. Seated dollars get the benefit of the doubt most of the time. Is the coin all hairlined up? That's the only thing I can think of as a reason to why they assaulted you and your coin. You know, kind of a net grade without bagging the coin. Just a thought.

like i said before, & a lot of members were offended by it, you get ripped off just as much by UNDERGRADED as you do from overgraded coins.

I'm going to attribute the flatness on the obv to the strike and say MS-61. If I'm wrong, then I'd go with Au-53. The reverse is what makes me think it could be strike.

It's an EF-40, but given the current "gradeflation" for circulated material, it could end up an AU-50 holder.

I'll give it this. It's a nice looking coin that worth a premium price for the EF-40 grade.

The PCGS VF-35 grade is too low. I guess you just got the wrong grader on this one.

My thought was a VF trying to be an XF, the wear on Liberty's breasts and right shoulder and the weakness of the word Liberty in the middle three letters kept it from being an XF. It is a real nice VF though.
