Lets rank the 3rd party slabbers....

Not sure if it's been done, but I can't find it in a search.... In what order would you list these companies for "resale value" only. i.e You get a coin slabbed at MS64 and get MS64 prices, not MS61 prices for it.

PCI Gold/Green (late)
NTC
ACG
It's actually the 941st. You were off by one.
Peaceman,
You have NTC ranked far too high. They are sleazeballs that slab junk, every bit as bad as ACG.
EDIT: Just realized you weren't ranking them.

That's OK Peaceman. Some members expect you to read all 148,900 previous threads before posting a topic of your own.
Besides, it was really sneaky how you tricked us into opening a thread about ranking 3rd party grading services with such a deceptive title.
SERVICE..... LOW.. ...HIGH.. ...AVERAGE

INS??? I've been wondering what they have been up to lately. Got the detainees slabbin' coins before they get deported? Probably just a translation problem putting the correct grades on the slabs. I've got this picture in my head of a sweatshop being overseen by a burnt-out PCGS grader chompin' on a big stogie......... wouldn't this be considered cruel and unusual punishment?
This is not a BIG coin, but whenever you can turn a $14.00 coin into a $110.00 coin, that's fun. For what it's worth: It REALLY is an MS66 too- Full strike, few ticks- nice luster and a light blue (not haze) color. 66+ really.
Same deal with a PCI MS66 1967 Kennedy. Blazing luster and no reason NOT to be MS66. PCGS agreed on a crossover.
So, maybe it's a good thing the 3RD teir Services are as bad as they are because it means they will also, occassionally, get it wrong the other way around, or- at best- sometimes get it right.

Sorry about that Russ, my calculator is broke so I had to count by hand (dang fingers).

<< <i>NTC and ACG overgrade 90% of the time. Just as they are poor graders that'll overgrade, they do occassionally undergrade. I had an NTC MS66 1971-D Ike cross from their MS66 holder to PCGS MS66. >>
Oh, sure. That's the "broken-clock analogy" -- a broken clock is right twice a day. But you're right -- if you know how to grade, and have the time to look through a lot of crappy slabs, you can find a bargain or two.
My picks:
GOOD: PCGS, NGC, ICG, ANACS
BAD: SEGS, PCI
UGLY: ACG, NTC
PCGS
NGC
ICG (typically a half point to high from MS-64 up)
ANACS
PCI
SEGS
I am not going to rank the others(especailly ,ACG), there's nothing positive to say.
NTC, I have not seen enough of there coins to make a judgement, although I probably dont need too???
